Bond No. 9 has a new fragrance for fall – B9 – and it’s the first named after the location of its flagship store at 9 Bond Street, finally.

The unisex scent is housed in a bottle decorated in a special way, like all of the company’s fragrances. But this one is different because it looks three-dimensional, with a raised “B9” logo on the front, which adds a tactile quality. It is deep aubergine, to represent “understated elegance and power,” according to the brand.

The B9 logo adorns the front of the bottle, reworked as a curvilinear design element, rendered in touchable raised gold.

The Inspiration

The fragrance is a tribute to Manhattan’s Bond Street, which is only two blocks long stretching from Broadway to Bowery in the trendy NoHo neighborhood. The wide, sunny, cobblestoned street includes a mix of old and new –  ultra-luxe condos, plus Renaissance and Greek Revival-style industrial buildings from the 1970s. This was all considered when creating the “juice,” gthe brand says.

The Juice

At its heart is ultra-feminine gardenia, which the brand says is very wearable for men as well, since it includes citrus and spicy saffron topnotes. These notes are “surrounded with sensual jasmine and delicate, mood-lifting orchid,” the brand states in a press release, which continues, “most compelling of all, we give it staying power with sultry but sustainable, masculine-leaning base notes: amber, sandalwood, musk, vetiver, and oakmoss.”
